Nanoseismic MonitoringSeismic Solutions applies the method Nanoseismic Monitoring for seismic observations. The technique was originally developed for the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) and has been used since many years as a standard method to investigate potential nuclear aftershocks with magnitudes of M = -2.0. The recording of seismic data is carried out by the use of several seismic small-arrays.Compared to standard STA/LTA-Triggers, the method is based on manual pattern recognition techniques of noise-adapted sonograms for event detection. The use of Nanoseismic Monitoring allows to process and analyze seismic signals, whose energies lie barely above the natural noise level (SNR < 2). Depending upon the site-specific noise level, typical detection thresholds of M = -1.0 at distances between 3 and 12 km, respectively M = -2.0 at distances between 1 and 3 km can be achieved.Compared to standard inversion methods, the localization of relevant signals is carried out by optimized software tools, which allow the determination of the influ-ence of each single parameter affecting the solution space in real-time.
